Books Build Community
The Phoenix Used Bookshop is a used bookshop dedicated to kids and teens, ages 0–16, located at 501 Magnolia Ave in Larkspur, CA.
An all-ages store is already in the works. This is just the beginning.
Community Mattering
The shop is built for participation, not just shopping. Contribute a book, write on our wall, leave a review for the next reader. You add value here — and you're valued here.
One Book, Many Hands
Every book carries a story before it reaches you and in some of our books you will find a bookmark that shares that story.
Literary Accessibility
Books at prices that make reading a habit. Free book swaps throughout Southern Marin. We hope to meet every reader wherever they are.
Landfill Diversion
320 million books hit US landfills every year. Not here. Every book gets read, shared, or redistributed. Nothing gets thrown away.
"Such a cute little store and a great use of the space. Great selection and prices."

Let's Take This OutsideThe Outdoor Book Club for Adults
In keeping with our commitment to sustainability our book club features ‘new’ books, however we buy our books from publisher’s “remainder” stock. These books may be ones that have been over ordered in the past, and just like used books, deserve a second look!

Together, we pause to consider our goals, hopes, and direction. This is about aligning with ourselves and with the journey ahead. This is a chance to reconnect with what brought you here—your questions, your hopes, your turning points—and consider how they’ve shifted or deepened.
Our Promise to the Community
The Phoenix isn’t just a used bookshop. It’s a way to keep great books in circulation (at affordable prices!), reduce waste, and spark connections in Marin County.
Every book that passes through our doors gets another chance to inspire—and it all starts with you because books build community.
